Military Target Towing

For several years now, we have been conducting target towing services on behalf of the military gunnery range based on the peninsula of Western Port Bay, Victoria.

To facilitate such a service, our engineering department was tasked with modifying a Piper Navjo twin engine aircraft with a winching cable system driven by an external propeller turned into the airflow to drive the winch in and out.
The cable is some 6,000ft long with an electronic targeting system attached to as the point reference for the guns to aim at.

As you can imagine, the pilots tend to be a bit nervous about having a cannon pointed in their direction, but our safety procedures are well tailored for this specific operation.
